Admitting one's flaws.. Might have been the perfect answer

I watched a news feed via the internet discussing the "blunder" that some might say Miss Philippines bet to the Miss Universe 2010 Beauty Pageant, Ma. Venus Raj, has committed.

Now for me, in a normal conversation, no one really would like to admit their mistakes in front of others. It makes us vulnerable and it takes a certain kind of trust for us to air out skeletons in our closets. What more if you were being watched by millions of strangers... it just takes a lot of guts and quick witticism to deflect that too-personal of a question.

So to those who are still castigating her for having a hard time answering her question, watch this and you might be inclined to give her a little bit more slack.

But still.. this is a beauty contest and as prestigious as this event was, she should have been more willing to do everything just to win the crown. As what the anchor said at the end of the news feed... "No answer. No Crown"!!! And the kicker of all...

"Admitting one's flaws.. Might have been the perfect answer" -- Ouch...

Though for these 4 sisters, whatever mistakes, Venus Raj may have made... they will forever be Venus Raj FANADDICTS.. Nyahaha

Playing with "cocks" (Read: Shuttlecocks!!!)

Over the past two weeks, with all the "major, major" brouhaha of Miss Universe 2010 and the tragic event of the hostage taking in Rizal Park, yours truly went a little bit on the athetic side.

I was invited to a badminton game by my boss and my team mate, Boss Bam and TL Carlo respectively. What sparked the renewed interest was our company-sponsored SportsFest 2010 and wonder of wonders, my boss and I signed up for the mixed doubles of the badminton game.

Now, with having played twice for the past two Wednesdays, I am actually enjoying the experience because playing badminton gave me a very good alternative for trimming down my bulging tummy. I always tried to find a reason not to do cardio exercises in the gym only because running on the threadmill bores me to death.

So now, I get to have fun while sweating the life out of me once a week. On top of all that, I got to hang out with new found friends.

Now if only I can convince my friends to let me play with them. The thing is, they are REALLY, REALLY good at the game and my amateurish skills might just be laughed at.. hehehe (though I know they would never dare.. for fear of being hurt.. nyahaha)

Ricky, Urville.. sali naman ako sa laro nyo.. Puhhleeassee!!!

Spicy Italian wears BenchBody

(NOTE: If you were expecting a picture of a spicy Italian man wearing nothing but BenchBody underwears, you are sadly mistaken and mislead. Hehehehe!!!!)

Yesterday after gym, CV and I, was supposed to watch a movie but since he had to take care of his sister, I just decided to eat.

If you have not tried SUBWAY® Philippines, now is a good opportunity. They have a promo called Sub of the Day and you can order their selected Sub for the Day for only P99.00. You can save as much as P50 off the original SubPrice.

Now, the first time that I ate here ages ago, I was kinda a bit embarrassed because they will ask you how your Sub would be prepared, so for those who has not gone there yet, I'll let you in on what to expect.

Step 1: Choose your bread.
They have 4 types of bread to choose from: Wheat; Honey Oat; Parmesan Oregano; Italian
Step 2: Toast or No Toast
They's just ask you whether you'd like your bread to be toasted. I usually do.
Step 3: Veggies
Look into their selection of veggies and let the Sub-make know what you don't like to be added into your sub. If they don't hear any special requests, they'll add all in.
Step 4: Sauce
Last would be to choose which sauce you'd like to add into your Sub. They have Mayonnaise; Oil and Vinegar (my favorite); Sweet Onion; Honey Mustard
There you go!!! You now have Sub in Hand. Add P60 for the chips/brownie and drinks and you can now enjoy your healthy sandwich.

My usual favorite is Tuna, but for yesterday I tried their Spicy Italian Sub.

Tuna SUB (from www.subway.com)
After eating, I decided to window shop and unfortunately for my savings, Glorietta was on a mall-wide sale so when I chanced upon the BenchBody store, I couldn't resist the boxer briefs on sale.

I actually have been thinking of buying new boxers for quite sometime now so it was not in anyway an impulsive purchase.

I picked out these two sexy boxers and I couldn't wait to try them on because I know I'm gonna look dashing in them (LOL.... wink.wink)

I like the white one
The orange is so FLASHY!!!

Hmmmn, I just thought now... EVERYONE NOW KNOWS WHAT I'M WEARING INSIDE... YIKESSS (hehehe!!!)

Addicted with Mang Inasal

The distinctive taste of rice with chicken oil..
The amazing aroma of chicken inasal..
The classic "sawsawan" --- toyomansi with chili..
And the kicker... UNLIMITED RICE....

Presenting.........

Looks Yummy!!!

MANG INASAL... hehehe!!!!

I can still remember the first time that I ate at Mang Inasal and thought that the food tasted good. It was just two months ago, in June, when Francis Ugay, Toto Aguilar and Cathy Garcia invited me for lunch. I was at Megamall that time so it was easy enough to say yes.

As it was just Kiko's birthday, I was armed with my charming smile and was able to persuade the usually-"kuripot" Ugay to treat me for lunch.

And there it was...

Mang Inasal's PM #2.. Pecho!!!

Sinfully Delicious

I admit, this craving is definitely unhealthy (I like my rice to have a large dollop of chicken oil that I think would eventually be the death of me) so I run like crazy after eating at Mang Inasal.

My stupid way of thinking that I could ever burn that sinfully delicious chicken oil.

Run Lester. RUN!!!!

Towels for Rent

Effective August 9, 2010, my favorite Gold's Gym branch (Glorietta 3) has started to generate more revenue, not by raising the member's monthly dues but to rather rent out their previously-free towels.

Before yesterday, the gym's towels are loaned free of charge to its members and I really found it extremely trouble-free. There was no need to bring a bulky towel and go through the hassle of adding more to your laundry.

The new towel rental rates are as follows:

Bath Towel        = P35.00
Gym Towel        = P25.00

Or you can rent both for P50.00

I guess I would need to get used to bring my own towels then... I definitely don't want to have to pay P50.00 each time I go to the gym.

Though I wouldn't mind him offering me his towels though. I always see him working out in this gym... Hehehe.
